But before you start filming, here’s our advice on how to put together a good submission
Take your time
Prepare your response carefully, so you have a good idea of what you want to say, but without being too over-scripted. Make notes and have them in front of you when you film, with key words highlighted.
Keep it brief
Try and keep to a maximum time of one minute.
Practice makes perfect
It’s a good idea to practice what you're going to say in advance out loud because the first few times you hit ‘Record’ you may find you dry up. When you're happy with your response, watch it a final time before you submit it, just in case you spot something you’d like to change.
Bright is best
Film in a brightly lit space, but not with windows behind you.
Say what?
If you film in a quiet location or stand close to your camera, you can rely on a built-in microphone. However, if you plan to film more than a few feet from your camera, or where there’s a lot of background noise, you will need to use an external microphone or at least ensure you speak loudly enough so you can be heard without one.
It's all about you
And only you. So please make sure you’re the only person in your film. Make sure your surroundings don't detract from you and what you have to say and film against as neutral a background as possible.
...and finally
Make sure not to use any copyrighted material, images or music in your film, and that there are no potentially offensive drawings or objects in the background.
Get voting
To get onto the shortlist drive as many of your friends to the Facebook page to vote for your film.
