Overview of programme & package

Starting your first job in a large firm can be an exciting and daunting experience, so we’ve worked hard to make our pre-joining experience and induction programme one of the best, and most thorough, around. We were also awarded the 'Best Graduate Induction' award in 2011 by the Association of Graduate Recruiters which is something we're really proud of.

We want you to feel part of the firm from the minute you get your offer and to join us full of excitement about what you will learn, who you will meet, the work you will do and the contribution you will be able to make. So, before you even start we give you a dedicated buddy. They'll be a current trainee who can answer any questions you might have and help you to settle in when you get here.

We'll also invite you to join our virtual space online so you can network and meet other joiners and trainees.

After joining, your induction starts with a two-day programme at your local office, where you’ll be introduced to your colleagues and given an overview of how things work.

Following that, you’ll attend our national induction with around 200 other trainees from all over the country – a two-day residential event usually held at a central London hotel. It's led by our National Leadership Board and CEO so its great learning on our strategy and for your networking.

We’ll tell you about our strategy, how you can play your part in it from day one and what it means to be a trainee at Grant Thornton. We also have an exciting social event, which takes place each year as part of the induction. You'll be assigned a partner to head up your year group, keeping you together as a community and ensuring you get access to the best opportunities.
